Theological Worldview

In celebration of the kick-off of Theology 101, I am posting my results for this Theological Worldview quiz. I took this a couple years ago and came out a little bit higher on the emergent/post-modern side. I'm not sure how I can be so Wesleyan, Reformed, and Pentecostal at the same time!

What are you?

You scored as Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan,You are an evangelical in the Wesleyan tradition. You believe that God's grace enables you to choose to believe in him, even though you yourself are totally depraved. The gift of the Holy Spirit gives you assurance of your salvation, and he also enables you to live the life of obedience to which God has called us. You are influenced heavly by John Wesley and the Methodists.

Well, I guess my move to the Dark Side is complete. I scored the following:
Emergent/Postmodern: 82%
Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan: 79%
Roman Catholic (huh?): 61%
NeoOrthodox: 54%
Modern Liberal: 39%
Reformed Evangelical: 36%
CharismaticPentecostal: 36%
Classical Liberal (now I'm a bit worried): 21%
Fundamentalist: 11%
I don't think I'm that liberal, but because I'm emergent, I disagreed with some of the statements because they are badly worded. Like we're called to pursue holiness, without which no one will see God. Well, of course we must pursue holiness. But it won't be our OWN holiness that allows us to see God. How do I agree or disagree with that statement? Too vague, too either-or!

This just proves that a quiz isn't going to show you your true theology. I mean, how can someone be 86% fundamentalist and 68% classical liberal? Fundamentalism was developed as a challenge and correction to classical liberalism. The two are mutually incompatible!
I'm thinking we need to just pay attention to the top 2 or 3 and then research those areas to decide if we do in fact fall into those camps. For example, for years I would've called myself Reformed Evangelical, but as I've learned more and more about it, I've realized that I actually reject a lot of Reformed Evangelical theology.

Yeah, I think there's some screwy stuff with this quiz. They don't cancel out statements that contradict. Mom-- you are awfully liberal for a fundamentalist!

I think the biggest thing for you is the Wesleyan influence.

I took this test last year and scored a lot higher on emergent/postmodern. I think my Reformed side is on the rise!
