Groups Go Live

Our Online Discipleship Atlas launched on our website this weekend. Huge props to David Russell for all his hard work. You can search for groups by type, area, day of the week, etc. We've got about 85 opportunities this semester (there are a couple more groups that need to get registered)-- Bible and book study groups, core discipleship groups, groups for men, women, and couples, service groups and interest groups. I'm really excited about this semester!

Check out the groups at www.theaterchurch.com/groups.

Heather,

Great work on the website. We recently integrated all of our groups on our website as well so I know it is a huge undertaking.

Will you still hand out a "high-gloss" magazine version of the discipleship groups as you have in the past. If so... HOW DO YOU AFFORD THAT?

Paul

Hey Paul- we will continue to give out the magazine, but we are cutting it down and making it more focused on our core discipleship groups and weekend ministry opportunities. It wasn't a financial decision, though. Getting people plugged into small groups and plugged into ministries is our goal for NCCers, so we create the budget to reflect that. The main reason we are streamlining the magazine is to give people more focus who are looking for a place to start. 80 group listings can be a little overwhelming. But listing the core groups on the discipleship map and weekend ministry opportnities, which are great places to start, helps people more. At least we think. :) We'll be getting feedback from our leaders.

For whatever its worth, we've also started designing the magazine in-house, so we don't have design costs. Just printing and shipping. Runs us about $4,000 a semester. It's definitely a big investment, but one we feel is important.
