Session 1: The Group Life Landscape

In the first session, we talked about the Group Life Landscape, and explored some of the following topics:
  • Trends
  • What's Working
  • What's Fresh
  • Meaningful Conversations We Need to Have
  • Uncertainties
  • Roadblocks
  • Potholes
  • The Goal
I'll post notes on things that were said later. In the meantime, what trends, fresh ideas, meaningful conversations, roadblocks, potholes, and goals do you see in your own ministry and in group life in general? What's working for you? What would you like to add to the conversation?

And head over to the Willow blog to engage there.

Challenge of raising leadership from a base of people who have never seen "it" (being true community, shared living/learning) or really even know what to define "discipleship" as.

Goal of raising disciples who replicate healthy pursuit of a life of full devotion to Jesus. Sounds pretty...how do you execute strategically and effectively?

Providing clarity of vision while allowing creativity of expression at a group level. How?

Defining the vision without constricting the life force of community. How?

What's the role of groups within a healthy, missional church? 100% participation? All leaders must participate? What about old fashioned classes? Ratios?

How do you measure the health of a group individually and then groups in aggregate? Missionally?
